The day will start with constructing emergency shelte rs using no tools and only natural materials. After lunch we will focus on the art of Firecraft and practice lighting and building our own fire suit ed for warmth. The day will end with making bushcraft torches that will fi rst cover knife safety and proper use before getting into creating your ow n bushcraft torch using all natural materials that can be used for light\, moving fire\, and emergency signalling. Day 2 \; (June 17th)This fu ll day class is geared to those who are interested in building on previous skills or those who are interested in a more wild and authentic wildernes s skills experience. Participants will be constructing long term shelters\ , complete with a raised bed and firewall that can be used in all seasons. This will be followed by a workshop on how to start fires in wet and cold conditions using a variety of methods. The day will end with a look at fo raging and wild medicines that support in both a wilderness living and eme rgency survival setting. Please note that this class will include some hea vy lifting and sawing.
