Job Purpose
Provide family support to new and existing home educating families, handle related administrative tasks, gather and disseminate information, and prepare required reports or packages.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Respond to emails and phone calls
- Provide information and support via phone, email and postal mail
- Provide advice on home education options from kindergarten through high school
- Provide curriculum resource recommendations and recommended approaches
- Help parents troubleshoot all levels, especially common home education struggles
- Drafting communications to families we serve, as well as to potential clients
- Call families to collect necessary paperwork
- Administrative tasks including data entry and paper handling
- Provide access to and manage programs and services in support of home schooling parents
- Represent home education program at conferences and meetings
Qualifications & Personal Qualities
- Home education experience is required, as either a home schooled graduate or home educating parent; greater than 5 years’ experience is strongly preferred
- Reliable, punctual, with excellent attention to detail and critical thinking skills
- Friendly and outgoing, with genuine care and a desire to serve the home school community
- Dedication to task completion
- Excellent verbal and written expression
- The ability to work independently with minimal supervision, and as an effective part of a team
- Strong computer skills with experience in excel and word processing programs
Working Conditions
Working from Derwent office. Part time, wage status. Some evenings and Saturdays required during high seasons. Four weeks paid vacation at times specified by management.
