Events listed here are organized and hosted by WISDOM Home Schooling families. WISDOM has not organized these events, so the information is published as provided by the individual hosting the event.

Where: Frank Slide Interpretive Center
When: Oct 21, 2025 1pm-4pm
Cost: $5 per person
Includes admission to the museum—plan extra time for that if you’re interested.
Come and experience Frank Slide! Hike (1.5km) through the rocks of Frank Slide while learning the geology of how Turtle Mountain was formed and why the slide came down.
Then we will split into 2 groups for the following (Based on age or family group):
- Recommended for 10 and under, 30 people max: Learn about the different rocks that make up Turtle Mountain. Make a conglomerate fridge magnet and dinosaur cast, then make your own model of turtle mountain out of a special medium- ice cream!!
- Recommended for ages 8+: Take part in a games based exploration of what immigrant life was like in the 1900’s in the Crowsnest Pass. Learn how many Europeans were lured by promises of free land and good jobs in the coal mine.
