Beginner Ballroom Dance Workshop - Chipman (Greater Edmonton Area)

Chipman National Hall

Our ballroom dance workshops are a great place to have fun while learning the basics of ballroom dancing. You will not only learn the basics - like how to waltz, rumba, fox trot and jive - instructors Mike and Michele Barter will also teach ballroom etiquette. These workshops have trained several generations of homeschoolers in the art of ballroom dance. Students benefit from the training in social graces as well as the opportunity to spend time with other home schoolers. The day consists of instruction and practise, followed by a potluck supper. After supper, you will have time to change into your evening attire for the ball beginning at 7:00pm. Bring your own lunch and a main dish as well as a salad or dessert for the potluck supper. Ball begins at 7:00pm.

Family Gathering - Camrose County – Miquelon Lake

When: 3:00-7:00ish
Location: Miquelon Lake Provincial Park, Group Site 2.

Follow the main road into the park and stay on it until you see the sign for Group Site 2.  We'll put up a WISDOM sign at the turn, as well.

The weather will have to be very rainy for us to cancel.  We'll still hold the event if it is chilly.  Dress warm.  There is a wood stove indoors in the camp shelter and a good ring for a huge campfire outdoors.

Please bring:
Lawn chairs, outdoor games to play with others (such as frisbee, badminton racquets, bocce, lawn darts, soccer ball, ball gloves, and bats, if you have any), hot dog sticks if you want to cook food over the fire, supper for your own family and lots of drinking water, maybe coffee or tea in a thermos, picnic blanket if you like, maybe insect repellant, running shoes for those who want to play games, warm coats, as it cools down quickly.

Due to Covid, we won't have a potluck meal.

We'll play a family ball game if there are enough people interested in playing.

We'll visit and play and have our meal.  It is very likely that there will be lots of discussion about homeschooling.  There very well may be a craft and a group game or two.  Bring an idea or two for a game to play, if you like. Joan always brings long skipping ropes to turn for those who want to jump.

It will be so nice to gather and meet new friends.

You may want to book a campsite and stay for a few days!  There are good hiking and biking paths at this park.

This event is only for WISDOM Home Schooling families.  In the spring we will hold a spring gathering that is open to all homeschooling families and those who are interested in finding out about homeschooling.
