WISDOM supports parents in their role as primary educators while meeting Alberta Education's requirements. Our support includes facilitators who are certificated teachers as well as home educating parents or who were home educated themselves - facilitators who encourage and provide guidance in navigating the educational adventure.
Come learn about home schooling and about how WISDOM can help your family achieve your unique goals. Our Spring Open Houses and Information Sessions are open to the public. Some events include socials for the whole family, while others are adult-only information sessions.

This information session is for new WISDOM families or those considering home schooling their families. Bring your question and conversation to meet with WISDOM facilitators to discuss home education options for your family. Session includes: general information on home education, building a vision for your family, building an education program plan, curriculum and resources, funding, and special services WISDOM offers. Childcare is provided.

Are you considering homeschooling? Join us at our open house event to gain more insights into homeschooling through WISDOM. Already homeschooling but know someone who is interested? Invite your friend/neighbour to come to our information night.
The WISDOM Facilitators will reflect on their own homeschooling experiences. We will also provide some basic information about homeschooling in Alberta with WISDOM. Then we will open the discussion to all in attendance to introduce themselves and share their thoughts on homeschooling. To be followed by a Q&A session.
We are looking forward to meeting you.
Coffee, water and snacks provided. Door prizes and children's activities, too.

Current homeschooling families and anyone interested in home schooling are welcome! Spend time with other homeschoolers and members of the WISDOM team, ask questions and find out more about how WISDOM can serve you best.
This is a potluck event. We will be going for a nature walk on the trails (weather permitting).
Please bring: a potluck dish and dessert to share (with ingredients labeled), lawn chairs, outdoor footwear appropriate for a walk in nature; board games (if wet weather).
