If you live anywhere close to the Red Deer area and if you home school (or if you are thinking about it), please join us!

Join other home schooling families and WISDOM Facilitators Sue Peachment, Catherine van Kampen, and Paul van den Bosch for food, conversation, and a baseball game (weather permitting). WISDOM will bring beverages and a main course.

Essay Skills: Write Your Best English 30 Diploma Exam - Calgary

Time: TBD (6 hrs duration)
Location: Calgary NW by Dalhousie Train Station

This workshop is intended to assist students who are preparing for the written portion of the English 30 -1 Diploma exam. Applicants need to have advanced writing experience and be familiar with literature of similar complexity to the Recommended Reading List.

This workshop covers the two assignments of the written portion of the exam: the Critical/Analytical Response to Literature and the Personal Response. Our teacher will provide an overview of each assignment, discuss common pitfalls of each, look at “how-to” ways of approaching each assignment and provide samples of student writing.  The instructor will be flexible to the needs of the participating attendees and can also cover English 30-2 material/samples and/or the Part B: Reading Comprehension, as interest warrants.  

The instructor will be flexible to the needs of the participating attendees and will take ample time for Q/A throughout the day.

Lethbridge Spring Picnic

Current home schooling families and those contemplating home schooling are welcome! Visit with other home schoolers and members of the WISDOM team and find out more about how WISDOM can serve you best.

We will provide burgers, hot dogs, buns, condiments, and water.

Please bring: potluck salad/side dish/veggies, and dessert.

Those who prefer to bring their own food are welcome to do so, but let us know to aid in planning.

Chess: Intermediate Continuation Class F - All Ages

What: Chess: Intermediate Continuation Class
Prerequisite: Fundamentals of Chess
When: Wednesdays, May 18 - June 22, 2022
Time: 10:00-11:00am

Six participant maximum.

Intermediate chess course is for students who want to learn complex concepts that revolve around seeing at least 2 moves ahead or more. This challenging 6 week course helps students reach their full potential as they master all fundamentals and start visualizing multiple variations. Classes can only be taken by students who took the beginner chess class offered by WISDOM or for students who contacted Mr Bloom directly to verify skill level.

Board Game Gathering - SW of Edmonton

Location: SW of Edmonton, near Devon. (Complete address will shared with registrants.)

Come play board games with us! 

For children ages 9-12.

Please Bring a favourite board game and a snack for yourself (to avoid any allergy/dietary concerns).

There are no pets in the home.
