Okotoks Catholic Homeschool Group Meetup

Date: Last Tuesday afternoon of every month.
Location: St James Parish 338060 32 St E, Okotoks

Monthly meetings at St James Catholic Church on the LAST Tuesday afternoon of the month. Field trips on the SECOND Tuesday of the month.

All are welcome, content geared towards Grades K-3

Parents can stay and socialize with younger/older siblings!

Please bring water bottles and snacks for yourselves and children attending classes

We have planned outdoor games such as dodgeball, and group competitions such as tug of war.

Foraging Walk T

A morning in the North Saskatchewan river valley with wild food guide Kevin Kossowan. Learn about 10-20 species of wild edible plants and fungus, with a focus on their use in the home kitchen.

Kevin Kossowan has been on 100+ wild food adventures in the Canadian wild for his twice James Beard Foundation award nominated web series ‘From The Wild’. He’s taught field cookery at the Global Bushcraft Symposium, co-creates the series ‘Wild Harvest’ with Les Stroud and chef Paul Rogalski airing on PBS and National Geographic, has led numerous foraging workshops and forage-to-table workshops, and regularly works with chefs exploring the culinary potential of the Canadian wilderness.

Date: Saturday, May 20 2023 Rescheduled date (due to smoke hazard): Friday, June 2
Time: 9-11am

$45 per participant. 
This is not a drop-off event. A parent or guardian must be present and is considered a paid participant. While there isn't an age restriction and students are welcome to attend with a grandparent or other older family member, these workshops are student-focused.

This event is only for WISDOM families.

Hay Lakes Spring Social at Telegraph Park

When: Friday, June 2, 11:00 am- 2:00 pm (alternate date in case of rain: June 16)
Where: Telegraph Park, 48580 Range Road 214A (the access is right on Highway 617, just 0.8 km east of Hay Lakes)

Join us for a time of connecting and fun at this campground with a pond and day use area.  Bring along your fishing supplies if you'd like to fish the stocked trout pond (parent supervision required). We'll gather to enjoy our lunches together. There will be a fire pit available if you'd like to plan to cook hotdogs. Dessert will be provided.

Chess Club - Olds

Date: Friday evenings from 7-9:30
Location: Olds AB

Chess club for ages 7 and up.

Parents are encouraged to stay and play but this is optional. There is also space to visit.

Please bring $10/month per family plus a snack to share. Donations to the instructor when there is a lesson would be appriciated.
