Introduction to Programming with Python GWhen: Mondays, September 30 - November 18, 9 - 10am MINIMUM of 6 people required to run this event. This 8-week course introduces students to programming using Python. Designed for beginners, it provides a solid foundation in coding concepts that can be applied to other programming languages. While prior experience with visual programming languages like Scratch is helpful, it's not required. Students will learn basic Python syntax, problem-solving skills, and fundamental programming concepts. By the end of the course, participants will have a good understanding of Python and be prepared to explore more advanced programming topics. |

Participants will be able to make their own fire starter helpers out of mostly natural materials that they can take home and use for their next fire. |

Basic Computer Skills AWhen: Tuesdays, October 1 - November 19, 2024 MINIMUM of 6 people required to run this event. This comprehensive 8-week course covers essential computer skills across Windows, macOS, and Chrome OS.Students will learn about operating systems, file management, and how to work with various file types including text documents, PDFs, images, audio, and video files. The course aims to build confidence in using computers for everyday tasks and academic purposes. By the end, students will be comfortable navigating different operatingsystems and managing digital content effectively. |

Junior Coding with ScratchWhen: Wednesdays, October 2 - November 20, from 9 - 10am MINIMUM of 6 people required to run this event. This fun and engaging 8-week course introduces younger kids to coding concepts using Scratch, a visual programming language. Through creating games and interactive stories, kids will learn fundamental programming concepts in an enjoyable, age-appropriate manner. While not focused on career preparation, the course builds problem-solving skills and logical thinking that can benefit various academic areas and potentially spark interest in future programming studies. |

Clay Wheel A - Lethbridge Art WorkshopsWhere: CASA - 230 8 Street S, Lethbridge Whether experiencing the potter’s wheel for the first time or having come to the class with prior experience, there is ample time to practice and explore throwing in this class. Form and surface treatment allow for exploration in individual creativity, while the fundamentals of throwing fill out the rest of this hands-on class. Once fired in the Casa kilns, students will have functional dishes to share with family and friends, all available three weeks after the last class. Note: Cost is based on a full class, less than a full class may result in a slight increase in tuition cost. Workshops may be canceled due to low enrolment. |

Clay Handbuilding A - Lethbridge Art WorkshopsWhere: CASA - 230 8 Street S, Lethbridge Play with clay in a most creative way! Students learn basic handbuilding techniques such as pinch pot, coil, and slab construction. Everyone is encouraged to express their creativity in clay while shaping both functional and decorative artworks under the helpful guidance of Casa’s experienced instructor. Pieces are coloured with ceramic glaze and are available for pick-up three weeks after the last class. Chess: Intermediate Continuation Class - All Ages ZPrerequisite: Fundamentals of Chess Intermediate chess course is for students who want to learn complex concepts that revolve around seeing at least 2 moves ahead or more. This challenging 6 week course helps students reach their full potential as they master all fundamentals and start visualizing multiple variations. Classes can only be taken by students who took the beginner chess class offered by WISDOM or for students who contacted Mr Bloom directly to verify skill level. |
