Survival: Firecraft and Knife Skills A - Edmonton

What: Firecraft and Knife Skills
When: May 3 from 1 – 3 pm
Where: Chickakoo Lake Recreational Area

Participants will learn about different types of knives and their uses and practice processing wood for the firecraft portion of the class. During firecraft, youth will learn how to build a fire with the Triangle of Fire as a foundation.

This program is geared towards homeschool students ages 5 - 17. While parents are not obligated to participate in these workshops, a parental representative must be present for students. Parents and younger siblings are also welcome to stay for class, free of charge. We simply ask that students be given the space to fully engage and participate in the program.

We run our programs rain or shine and encourage parents/students to check the weather on the day of class and dress accordingly. We suggest wearing layers, as well as long pants and closed toed shoes.
