Biology 30 Laboratory Seminars - Calgary E1158
When: Weekly, beginning February 6
Where: Alternating between online and at Gilbertine Academy, 1423 8 Ave SE, Calgary
This program will further expose students to the scientific method and develop their knowledge and skills in the realm of Biology. They will study and conduct experiments regarding: The Neurological System (Dissection of Sheep’s Brain and Cow Eye); Endocrine System (Case studies and testing); Reproductive System (Pregnant Sow Reproductive Tract Dissection); Genetics (Hardy Weinberg Principle). Students will write a lab report for each experiment and will receive personalized feedback to aid and improve further studies.
The Biology 30 laboratory seminar offered through WISDOM Home Schooling and The Gilbertine Academy is designed to be a self-enclosed program. Students who are not currently studying Biology 30 for course credit can benefit from this program. The Biology 30 laboratory seminar can also be used for 30% of their portfolio in their course credit challenge or as the Science requirement for a WISDOM Home Schooling Diploma.
To enrol in this lab seminar, it is required that students would have successively completed at least one of the following WISDOM Home Schooling Lab Seminar programs: Biology 20; Physics 20/30; Chem 20; Physics 20/30; General Physical Science.
