Bushcraft Torches - Stony Plain E1178

When: 1-3pm November 6
Where: Chickakoo Recreation Area (meet in upper parking lot by washrooms)

Fire has been central to human connection, celebration, and survival throughout history. In this final class, participants will explore the importance of fire and create their own traditional-style bushcraft torches.

Students will learn:

• Why torches were important throughout history
• How different cultures used fire for light and ceremony
• How to select and prepare natural torch materials
• Safe fire practices

Participants will gather and prepare natural materials before creating their own bushcraft torches.

The series will conclude with a small fire ceremony where students can celebrate their accomplishments, reflect on the skills they have learned, and experience the connection that comes from working with natural materials.
