This unique class is a great introduction to the world of natural dyes. Fruits, vegetables, flowers, and more can all be used to create natural dyes for cotton and other fabrics. They are a great way to get beautiful results without all of the chemicals found in traditional dyes and are also biodegradable and easily disposable so you also don’t have to worry about harming the planet with your dye project. Participants will learn about the process of fabric dying and make their own dye using a variety of materials depending on the season. Participants will leave the class with their own dyed fabric. Natural dyes are another way we can engage with the natural world and experience nature in a deeper way.
