Last Child in the Woods - Nature Adventures

Location: Beaver Pond Trail (Elk Island National Park)
Approximately 45 Km east of Edmonton’s city centre.

Approximately 3.5 km, 1-2 hour walk.

This trail is characterized by evidence of beaver activity along its length. Lodges that are overgrown with vegetation are abandoned. The open aspen forest and sedge meadows along this trail are ideal for bird watching in the summer and observing large mammals grazing in the winter.Significant Features: Aspen forest and sedge meadows. Good for viewing plains bison, moose, beaver and waterfowl.
