In Person Chess Workshop - Edmonton
When: April 12 from 10:00-3:00pm (arrive just before 10)
Where: Bethel Lutheran Church, 298 Bethel Drive, Sherwood Park
Chess players! Up your game with an in-person WISDOM CHESS WORKSHOP with Marty Barter, a rising contender with over 11,400 games played and a chess.com rating of 1900. He is passionate about sharing his love and skill with others and has worked with students online and in person, encouraging them to better themselves in developing strategic skills. A great communicator, Marty will inspire you to become a rising star!
Program will include:
- Establishing a baseline for skill level (strengths and weaknesses) mini tournament style
- Explore openings
- Develop middle game strategies
- End game tactics
- Play etiquette
- Fun Simo (Marty plays all students at the same time)
Prerequisites: Knowledge of how the pieces move, Chess.com rating of under 1000 or Lichess account under 1500. If no rating yet, please come!
What to bring:
- Bring a chess board and pieces
- Bring a bag lunch
- Bring your enthusiasm!
Parental presence is required.
