Mediated Learning Foundations MLearn the steps to empower your innate teaching skills. This series of three 2-hour sessions will include instruction, parent participation, and opportunity for Q & A. As participants meet in a virtual classroom, a microphone headset, a strong internet connection and speakers are required. Workshop runs for three Mondays: October 16, 23, 30, from 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm. Foundations is a prerequisite to all other Mediated Learning Courses with the exception of Screen Impact. Once you have completed Foundations, please explore the other courses in any order. |

Survival: Torch Making and Fire Starters D - MyrnamWhen: October 17 1-4pm Since winter is coming let's warm up with some fire related bushcrafting. In this class participants will learn how to make a torch with only natural materials as well as how to make a natural firestarter that you can take home and use on future adventures. There will also be a knife skill component to this class to ensure safe use! |

Chess: Intermediate Continuation Class Z - All Ages 2023Prerequisite: Fundamentals of Chess Intermediate chess course is for students who want to learn complex concepts that revolve around seeing at least 2 moves ahead or more. This challenging 6 week course helps students reach their full potential as they master all fundamentals and start visualizing multiple variations. Classes can only be taken by students who took the beginner chess class offered by WISDOM or for students who contacted Mr Bloom directly to verify skill level. |

Indoor Rock Wall Climbing - Calgary HWhen: October 19, 2023 from 11 - 1pm Top Rope This two-hour class is will teach you the basic skills required to top-rope climb and belay. Top rope climbing is where the climber is securely attached to a rope that runs through a fixed anchor at the top and back down to the belayer at the base of the climbing route. Learn how to put on your harness, tie the proper knots and manage the rope belay systems. You and your partners will climb together under the supervision of our instructors. All climbers must have:
A waiver must be completed for each participant or anyone who will be going into the climbing areas (teachers/volunteers). If participants are under 18, they must be completely filled out by a parent or legal guardian. If participants are over 18, they must have government issued photo ID. We recommend that you 10 minutes before your lesson’s start time. Parental presence is required. |

Indoor Rock Wall Climbing - Calgary EWhen: October 19, 2023 from 1:00pm - 2:00pm ClimbPark Have fun trying our diverse wall elements. Under the supervision and help of our staff, participants can all climb at the same time using the auto-belay machines that help you climb and let you down automatically once you reach the top. You will slide, drop, jump and race on our unique and challenging walls. Participants can work together, complete a maze or race to the top. Participants must weigh between 40 lbs and 265 lbs and require a completed waiver form. We recommend this activity for ages 6 and up (but do permit 5 year olds when appropriate).
