Fundamentals of Chess - Ages 6-10 CWhen: Mondays, November 11 - December 16, from 9 - 10am Does your child love to play chess? This six-week program is a unique opportunity to play the game while improving skills in Problem Solving, Deductive Reasoning and Creative Thinking by solving chess puzzles and executing a systematic process to beat your opponent. While this program is called "beginner" it will challenge your chess player and keep them engaged, even if they have been playing for years. |

Winter First Aid - Grande PrairieWhen: November 11, 2024 Participants will learn about what Hypothermia is as well as the causes and symptoms. We will cover how to treat a Hypothermic emergency in the field as first responders. Time permitting participants will also learn about natural medicines that can be found in their area in the colder months. |

Shelter Building & Bushcraft Torches - Grande PrairieWhen: November 12, 2024 Register for either of this day's events below, or register for both and save $5! What: Long Term Shelter Building This class will focus on longer term survival shelters that balance comfort and warmth. Participants will work on constructing a raised bed shelter that will provide more comfort and warmth than an emergency type shelter. What: Bushcraft Torches Torches have many uses in survival situations for light, moving fire, and other uses. This class will allow participants to create their own torch using only natural materials and learn about why torches may be an asset in the wilderness. This class will start with a knife safety presentation. Participants are welcome to bring their own non-folding knife if desired, otherwise all tools and materials will be provided. |

When: Tuesdays, November 12 - 26, from 7 - 9 pm Unlock growth together in this interactive, 3-part workshop series designed to inspire self-direction, boost motivation, and equip students for success both in high school and beyond. This workshop includes a personal WISDOM Jumpstart Journal for each student participant, used as a practical tool during the sessions and beyond. |

CLT 10 (College Preparatory Exam & Grade 9-10 Assessment) Nov 13-14The Classical Learning Test 10 (CLT10) is for students in grades 10 or 11. These tests focus on numeracy and literacy, and can be a useful evaluation tool, as well as a CLT preparatory exam. CLT can be conveniently accessed from home.

Chess: Intermediate Continuation Class - All Ages APrerequisite: Fundamentals of Chess Intermediate chess course is for students who want to learn complex concepts that revolve around seeing at least 2 moves ahead or more. This challenging 6 week course helps students reach their full potential as they master all fundamentals and start visualizing multiple variations. Classes can only be taken by students who took the beginner chess class offered by WISDOM or for students who contacted Mr Bloom directly to verify skill level. |

Speech & Language Development GWith special guest Sarah Crick, MSc, R.SLP, CCC-SLP, and WISDOM mom. Discover how you can help your child with speech/language delays at home. Join us for an online information session with answers to your specific questions, information and resources. As participants meet in a virtual classroom, a microphone headset, a strong internet connection and speakers are required. November 13, 7 - 8 pm. $30 per couple or individual parent As you register, please let us know of a specific question you would like to ask, as well as the age of your child. |

Chess: Advanced Continuation Class S - All AgesPrerequisite: Chess: Intermediate Continuation Class This Workshop is for students who have completed the beginner and intermediate chess workshops and are ready for some fine tuning to their skills. Students have learned core chess concepts, while solving puzzles to improve problem solving skills . In Advanced Chess, it's time to put those skills into action. This class focuses on real-time game playing with personalized coaching, and adds in new concepts that take the game to the next level. |
