Drop-in Basketball - Medicine Hat

When: March 10, 17, 24, and 31 from 1:30 - 2:30

Where: Big Marble Go Center Gym Quadrant 1, 2000 Division Ave N, Medicine Hat

Come join us for an exciting opportunity to learn basketball skills! Whether you're a beginner or looking to improve, this session is perfect for everyone. It's being coached by a talented MHC student in partnership with Be Fit For Life. All ages and skill levels are welcome – we can’t wait to see you there!

There will be a drop in fee of $5 per class, please bring this with you and pay directly to WISDOM facilitator Tiffany Arnold.

Medalta Field Trip and Clay Creation Project - Medicine Hat

When:
Part 1 April 1 from 10 - 1pm
Part 2 April 15 from 10 - 12pm

Where: Medalta Clay Museum, 713 Medalta Ave SE, Medicine Hat

Join us for a tour of the Historic Medalta Clay Museum and have a chance to learn some clay handcrafting techniques. This field trip will have 2 parts. The first date (April 1) will be a tour of the museum, plus learning hand techniques while you create your own clay project. The second visit (April 15) we will be glazing our projects. The cost is $12 for children 5 and under and $16 for children 6 and older.

Mediated Learning Foundations A

When: April 1, 8, 15 — 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM

Learn the steps to empower your innate teaching skills.

This series of three 2-hour sessions will include instruction, parent participation, and opportunity for Q & A.  As participants meet in a virtual classroom, a microphone headset, a strong internet connection and speakers are required.

Foundations is a prerequisite to all other Mediated Learning Courses with the exception of Screen Impact.  Once you have completed Foundations, please explore the other courses in any order.

Fundamentals of Chess - All Ages H

When: Wednesdays, April 2 - May 7, 12 - 1pm

Does your child love to play chess? This six-week program is a unique opportunity to play the game while improving skills in Problem Solving, Deductive Reasoning and Creative Thinking by solving chess puzzles and executing a systematic process to beat your opponent.

While this program is called "beginner" it will challenge your chess player and keep them engaged, even if they have been playing for years.

Jumpstart Your Path to Success!

When: April 3, 10 — 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM

For high school students (14+) and parents.

Unlock growth together in this interactive, 3-part workshop series designed to inspire self-direction, boost motivation, and equip students for success both in high school and beyond. This workshop includes a personal WISDOM Jumpstart Journal for each student participant, used as a practical tool during the sessions and beyond.

Thank you for your interest in attending WISDOM Home Schooling’s High School & Beyond Conference. The theme this year is Chart Your Course.

This annual conference gathers homeschooling families (children 12+ and their parents) from around the province. It seeks to help them navigate the process of home schooling through high school, and introduces them to a variety of post-secondary and career or vocation options that exist for them to pursue after graduation. We anticipate an approximate attendance of 400 people.

Registration includes:

• A booth (6' or 8' table and chairs for one or two representatives) at our conference on Saturday, from 10am – 2pm, to assist in further dialogue with the conference participants.
• A schedule that provides time for students to interact with you
• Exhibitor lunch and coffee for one or two representatives
• Information linked from our website to yours, with room to link to handouts/promo materials
• Your information in a booklet to each registrant
• A select number of exhibitors will be asked to provide a one-minute pitch of their organization's home school entrance requirements* (more info in the registration form)

Space is limited. Exhibitor registrations are subject to approval.
