Utensil Carving - Stony Plain E1169
When: 1-3pm October 23
Where: Chickakoo Recreation Area (meet in upper parking lot by washrooms)
Carving is one of the oldest forms of human craftsmanship. In this class, participants will learn how people have transformed simple pieces of wood into practical tools used in everyday life.
Students will learn:
- How to select appropriate carving wood
- Basic carving techniques
- Safe knife handling and carving practices
- How to shape wood into a functional object
Using knives and traditional carving methods, participants will create their own wooden utensil to take home.
This class encourages patience, focus, creativity, and respect for the tools and materials we work with.
