Haley was homeschooled from grade one to twelve with WISDOM. Being the fourth oldest of eleven children she never felt that she missed out on the full classroom experience; there were always fellow students around! She highly values her childhood and is grateful for the amount of time she got to spend with her family, allowing for the beautiful relationships that she shares with her siblings.
When she was seven, Haley’s family moved out to an acreage. At the time she enjoyed having the wide open fields, small forests, and many animals to play with and let her imagination run wild in. However she loathed her gardening chores. Since then she’s grown to appreciate the bounty, and the joy that growing your own food brings, and has found a new passion in learning how to forage.
Shortly after high school she served as a missionary with NET Ministries of Canada for two years. These were two of the most joy-filled and formative years she has experienced. Learning how to cooperate and work closely with a team of young adults taught Haley what it means to love intentionally and serve joyfully. She treasures the relationships that were formed these years and still keeps close contact with some of her teammates despite living across the country from them.
Working with WISDOM has been an enormous blessing in Haley’s life and she appreciates the opportunity she has in being able to serve a cause she is passionate about. When not at work you can find Haley playing board games or sitting on roofs with her friends and a good glass of wine, swinging on her hammock with a book, or planning her next adventure in travelling!
