2 Day Wilderness Skills Workshop - Grande Prairie E1107

Day 1 (June 16th)
This full day class is a great intro to emergency wilderness survival and bushcraft. The day will start with constructing emergency shelters using no tools and only natural materials. After lunch we will focus on the art of Firecraft and practice lighting and building our own fire suited for warmth. The day will end with making bushcraft torches that will first cover knife safety and proper use before getting into creating your own bushcraft torch using all natural materials that can be used for light, moving fire, and emergency signalling.
Day 2 (June 17th)
This full day class is geared to those who are interested in building on previous skills or those who are interested in a more wild and authentic wilderness skills experience. Participants will be constructing long term shelters, complete with a raised bed and firewall that can be used in all seasons. This will be followed by a workshop on how to start fires in wet and cold conditions using a variety of methods. The day will end with a look at foraging and wild medicines that support in both a wilderness living and emergency survival setting. Please note that this class will include some heavy lifting and sawing. It is open to all ages (5-18) however younger kids may need some support from parents.
