Mike and Michele Barter will work with you to strengthen your skills and add in new steps for the waltz, fox trot, jive and rumba, You will also add new dances like the cha-cha and samba. This workshop reinforces ballroom etiquette, giving you the life skills that stem from practicing courtesy. Students benefit from the training in social graces as well as the opportunity to spend time with other home schoolers.
This is not a drop off program. If your student is not accompanied by an adult, they will not be able to participate in the program.

Emphasis is placed on treating the axe with respect and understanding it as a practical tool used for gathering firewood, building shelters, and completing other essential tasks in the wilderness. By learning proper technique and safety awareness, participants gain confidence and develop responsible skills for outdoor living in Alberta’s diverse and rugged landscapes.

Our ballroom dance workshops are a great place to have fun while learning the basics of ballroom dancing. You will not only learn the basics—like how to waltz, rumba, foxtrot, and jive—but instructors Mike and Michele Barter will also teach ballroom etiquette. These workshops have trained several generations of homeschoolers in the art of ballroom dance. Students and parents benefit from the training in social graces as well as the opportunity to spend time with other homeschoolers.
This is not a drop-off programme. Students not accompanied by an adult will not be able to participate.
Anyone under the age of 18 must have a registered parent or guardian present at the workshop or ball.

The Association of Independent Schools and Colleges (AISCA) is excited to bring an immersive aviation experience to Edmonton this year! Previously hosted in Calgary, the event is landing at the Edmonton Convention Centre on May 4 and 5, in collaboration with Alberta Aviation, Aerospace & Defence.
Students grades 7-12 will dive into interactive challenges covering aircraft structures, avionics, maintenance, virtual reality, and creative, out-of-the-box problem-solving.
AISCA teams will be on display not only for attendees of the Aviation, Aerospace, and Defence Summit happening alongside the event, but also for hundreds of local high school students eager to explore careers in Aircraft Maintenance.
Participants will:
- Try engaging in hands-on activities
- Meet local aviation businesses
- Hear from industry mentors about career pathways

With these items packed and ready, you can head into your next adventure knowing you’re equipped for the challenges and surprises the wild may bring. Participants will create their own kits based on their own activities in the wild.
