Susan is fascinated with how we are made to learn. Influenced by the founder of the world's most influential music instruction method, Shinichi Suzuki, she believes that talent can be nurtured in everyone just as all people learn to speak their mother tongue with ease.
After completing a Psychology and Music degree at the University of Alberta and Suzuki Violin Teacher Training, she taught for the University of Lethbridge Music Conservatory and was Director of their Suzuki String Program.
Inspired by her encounter with the work of another great pioneer in unlocking human potential, Israeli Psychologist Reuven Feuerstein, she now pours her love of learning into WISDOM’s Mediated Learning Program which aims to support parents in meeting their child’s specific learning needs with the efficacious tools Feuerstein honed over his lifetime.
Dr. Suzuki asserted, “Where love is deep, much can be accomplished!”
Professor Feuerstein repeatedly reassured, “There is ALWAYS hope!”
Susan strives to pass on these two torches.
She and her husband, Glenn, home educated all their children through to adulthood and presently live in central Alberta.
