Parent/Child Course (10-12 yrs), $175 - No Prerequisite
The child and parent take this course together. Each of the seven books in C.S. Lewis’s classic series will be explored and analyzed. The process of peeling back the many layers found in the Chronicles of Narnia will reveal to students how to begin with a concrete story and then analyze it for themes, ideas, and character development.
We recommend that parents review these works ahead of time to ensure they are a good fit for their children. Not all courses may be well-suited for each family, particularly when children are in a younger age range. We rely on parent discretion to determine whether or not a course will serve their child well.

There is a reason why mankind has always been fascinated with tales of adventure. They are not simply stories of the clash of swords, bold exploration, and derring-do - they contain a wealth of truth about our world and ourselves. In this course, students will use Socratic discussion to uncover the deeper meanings in some of western culture's best-loved adventure stories.

It has been said beauty is the greatest doorway to truth; it's time to fling the doors wide open. Bring your curiosity and sense of wonder, and prepare to revel in a festival of some of greatest masterworks of art ever created. Trace the story of art and the men and women who chiseled, daubed, moulded, and breathed life into it through the ages. Train your eye for art and your reason at the same time. Guided by weekly readings, students will examine featured paintings each week, and explore the great ideas hidden in them by means of Socratic discussion. This course will broadly cover the past millennium of art, studying the various eras, styles, methods and history of the great artists. Can a picture really speak a thousand words - can a few brush strokes really have so much to say about truth? Come and find out for yourself.
Senior Course (14 yrs and up), $185, 14 week course - Prerequisite: One Intermediate Level Course
This course explores the writings of C.S. Lewis, one of the most influential Christian writers of the twentieth century. From his fantasies to his moral treatises, Lewis imparts the concept that one has great responsibility to live well, and while shaping one’s own world, one can shape global ethics. The readings include apologetics, philosophical accounts of doctrine, and allegorical interpretations of Christian theology. Students will enjoy discussing the “big questions”, and learn how to apply them to their own lives.

Senior Course (15 yrs and up), $185, 14 week course – Prerequisite: Foundational Great Books
This is a senior level course for those wanting to learn more about Canadian Government. How does our democracy work? How are Provincial parties related to Federal parties? How are MPs selected? What is the Canadian Senate all about? What is the history of parliament and governance? What of the BNA Act, our Constitution, the Canadian Charter of Rights, and what is Canada’s relationship to Britain?
In this course, we will learn about and discuss the main elements and historical background of how our country is run, as a Federal State, a Constitutional Monarchy, and a Parliamentary Democracy. We will explore the different levels and branches of government, in the aim of gaining an awareness and appreciation for the political scene, and of how we ourselves participate in it.
Intermediate Course (13 yrs and up), $185, 14 week course – No Prerequisite
Why did God give man a reasonable mind, the ancients asked, if not for the purpose of discovering the source of truth? Students will use discussion to stretch themselves in the art of clear thinking, grow in their ability to pursue the truth rationally, articulately, and persuasively, and recognize faulty thinking when they see it. In a world where communication grows ever more easy, this course will challenge students to know how to communicate well, discuss appropriately, and not shy from alternate opinions, but rather welcome them because they facilitate meaningful connections and open dialogue.
Intermediate Course (12 yrs and up), $325, 14 week course (includes private tutorial time) – Prerequisite: Advanced Grammar Placement Assessment (supplied by the program manager)
[Upon registration, the program manager will send you the placement assessment for completion. If the student struggles with a significant portion of these concepts, we will advise taking Foundational Grammar first or completing additional grammar study in their home program.]
This course is a bridge between Foundational Grammar and Intro to High School Writing, for students who are familiar with grammar basics but not quite ready for high school essays. It focuses on the more complex rules of grammar, covering clauses, phrases, and sentence structure and includes an introduction to the world of paragraph writing. Students will develop strong writing basics that will help them when they enter the high school stage of composition. This course does build upon the concepts of WISDOM's Foundational Grammar course, but it is not essential that Foundational Grammar is taken first if students already have a sufficient grasp of the basic parts of speech and their usage.
