Joshua embarked on his homeschooling journey on August 3rd, 2022, coinciding with the joyous arrival of his daughter, Elodie, into the world. He has been loving the labour of love that is fatherhood and is honoured to help his daughter experience life. Joshua and his wife, Haley dream of settling their family into a piece of land where they can plant a garden and care for some animals, while steeping their children in faith, nature and good literature. The knowledge that many other parents are striving toward similar dreams is what drives Joshua in his work for The Gilbertine Institute.
During his high school years, the Holy Spirit stirred up a passion in Joshua for his faith through his church youth ministry program and its inspiring leaders. This transformative experience instilled in him a desire to provide similar opportunities for young people. Immediately after high school, Joshua served as a missionary to the youth of Canada with NET (National Evangelization Teams) and later spent a couple of years as a seminarian with the Companions of the Cross. In 2018, Joshua came back to NET Canada to work at their national headquarters, focussing on equipping aspiring missionaries with the skills and formation necessary to walk with young people in their faith. His heart for youth ministry is now being directed towards his own budding family and supporting other parents as they raise their children.
Joshua has a habit of deep-diving into a topic for a time before finding another. More recently, he's enjoyed spotting and identifying birds and mushrooms with his wife, crafting cocktails for his friends and exercising his imagination through tabletop role-playing games. Some of his more long-lasting interests include singing, film, cooking, philosophizing and the Dallas Cowboys. No matter the activity, it's preferably spent in the company of those he loves.
