Thomas was born in Edmonton and raised in Vermilion, Alberta. After one year of kindergarten at St. Jerome's school in Vermilion, his beautiful mother decided home schooling was the way to go. Home schooling afforded Thomas the time to pursue his interests and talents, most notably piano. At age 14 he received his Grade 8 certification at the Royal Conservatory of Music. At age 16 he began his career as a music instructor.

Thomas home schooled up until grade 11, when he attended the Seminary of Christ the King for the rest of his high school. He continued on at the seminary for two years of philosophy, until he discerned that the priesthood was not his calling. He then worked for the Lakeland College as a piano instructor for a few years, eventually opting for the self employment route.

Thomas continues to teach piano on the side as he works for the WISDOM Family Funding department. At WISDOM, Thomas greatly enjoys working with the team to help parents understand the sometimes complex world of funding, and to take advantage of all the funding that is available to them. He has a wife and three children, and is eager to home school his children through WISDOM when they are ready.
