Hope Bekolay was homeschooled with WISDOM from kindergarten through graduation, an experience woven deeply into the fabric of her life. Growing up on a busy acreage as one of eleven siblings, she learned early what it meant to be adaptable, creative, and community-minded. These formative years strengthened her conviction that parents hold both the right and the beautiful responsibility of being their children’s first and primary educators. She cherishes the freedom home education offers: a freedom that encourages young people to grow confidently and genuinely into who they are meant to be.
The flexibility of homeschooling allowed Hope to dive wholeheartedly into her interests. She explored different mediums of art, embarked on countless outdoor adventures (with no lack of cuddling kittens and annoying chickens!), and enjoyed a variety of extracurricular opportunities that kept each week vibrant and full. Swimming days and regular library visits were particular favorites, sparking both her imagination and her love for learning.
As she grew older, Hope discovered a steady pull toward serving others. Whether she was preparing homemade treats, helping with chores, planning family celebrations, or giving her time through volunteer work, she found joy in the simple, meaningful ways she could support the people around her. These experiences shaped her understanding of service as something both practical in the way of living her faith vocation and deeply personal.
This journey has now brought Hope back to The Gilbertine Institute. She is delighted to contribute her background, enthusiasm, and hands on data experience to the institute, supporting families behind the scenes as they embark on or continue their own home-education paths. With gratitude and excitement, she looks forward to encouraging others in the same nurturing environment that helped shape her into who she is today.
